Circuits and Bags

Veterinary anesthetic circuits and bag reservoirs are used for advanced anesthesia protocol. There are two basic categories of these circuits, including non-rebreathing circuits and rebreathing circuits. The non-rebreathing circuit is a simpler system in which oxygen passes through a flowmeter into a vaporizer. It is also less resistant to breathing. Rebreathing circuit is a complicated veterinary anesthetic system in which gas flows through different hoses. The benefit of using this circuit is that expired oxygen and anesthetic vapors can be recycled with low oxygen and anesthetic agent. Both circuits have their advantages and some disadvantages. Working with these systems is not easy, so veterinarians should have complete guidelines on how to operate them.
