<p>The Schwarzman Animal Medical Center (AMC) is offering a position as an Internal Medicine Senior Veterinarian. Requirements for this position are ACVIM board certification in Internal Medicine and eligibility for a New York State license. As an internist at AMC, you will have the chance to train residents and interns and be challenged daily in a unique opportunity that blends clinical practice and academics and allows for cross pollination of ideas between clinicians and residents.</p>

<p>AMC comprises almost every specialty and subspecialty of small animal medicine and surgery, with an emphasis on collaborative medicine, offering a chance to expand your personal clinical skillset. The hospital provides an environment where learning new procedures is possible and encouraged.</p>

<p>The Internal Medicine Department is fully staffed with state-of-the-art equipment for endoscopy, bronchoscopy, cystoscopy, ultrasonography, laparoscopy, and interventional radiology. You will be part of our internal medicine team of 7 boarded specialists and dedicated hospitalists. Internal medicine works closely with the Interventional Radiology and Endoscopy Service, staffed with 2 boarded specialists. In addition, the Internal Medicine Department has a dedicated Hemodialysis and Extracorporeal Therapy Service. State-of-the-art CT and MRI are also available, overseen by our Diagnostic Imaging Department with 4 radiologists. Our assistant and licensed veterinary technician team is highly familiar with all internal medicine and interventional procedures. Additionally, our staff practice a high level of anesthetic competency overseen by our Anesthesia Department to assist with complex and high-risk cases.</p>

<p>As a Senior Veterinarian, your job will be a hybrid between outpatient clinical medicine, inpatient care, and procedures. You will also participate in oversight of residents, teaching of interns, and contribute to and participate in academic teaching rounds.</p>

<p>As a Level 1 Trauma Center, we have an expanded capacity and dedication to providing critical care to the patients that we service. A close relationship with the Emergency and Critical Care Department allows for joint oversight and awareness of ICU patients. This allows for early recognition and intervention of decompensating patients when we cannot be available.</p>

<p>The Schwarzman Animal Medical Center in New York City seeks a board-certified (ACVIM or ECVIM) or board-eligible cardiologist to lead our practice and work with administration to further expand and grow AMC&rsquo;s cardiology services. They will help assure excellence in postgraduate teaching and training, oversee our ACVIM cardiology residency training program, and encourage clinical investigation. They will also ensure outstanding client experience and build relationships with the veterinary community. DVM or equivalent degree is required. This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced DVM in cardiology looking to take his/her career to the next level and work in a newly constructed, state-of-the-art facility.</p>

<p>Clinical and/or basic science research experience is preferred. Opportunities for collaborative research exist both at AMC as well as with the Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine, Weill Cornell Medical School, and NYU. AMC is actively looking to increase its research capabilities over the coming years.</p>

<p>The Cardiology Service includes experienced, licensed veterinary technicians (LVTs), two ACVIM cardiology diplomates, two cardiology residents, a cardiology specialty intern, and a rotating intern. Cardiac catheterizations are performed in our state-of-the-art interventional radiology catheterization laboratory. Our 24/7 ICU is equipped with telemetry. A new, world-class facility is due to open in early 2025, along with a new Cardiology Suite for direct patient care.</p>

<p>AMC has many clinical resources. Diagnostic imaging services are provided 7 days per week. Computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging are available on-site. A commercial diagnostic laboratory housed within AMC provides 7-day per week service and an on-site clinical pathologist.</p>

Head of Cardiology

<p>The Schwarzman Animal Medical Center (AMC) in New York City is seeking a highly motivated, team-spirited veterinarian to join our Dentistry Service. You will not find a hospital that practices a higher level of medicine while fostering camaraderie and dedication to patient care like at AMC.</p>

<p>Our team is led by two highly experienced dentists (including one who is board certified), one resident, and supported by a team of experienced technicians and assistants.</p>

<p>The applicant must be board eligible or board certified in Dentistry and eligible for licensure in New York State.</p>

<h3>About Dentistry at AMC</h3>

<p>The dentistry suite has 4 workstations each equipped with Midmark Canis Major wet tables and VetPro5000 dental units. Each table has Berchold LED surgical lighting, Mindray anesthesia monitors, large high detail monitors above each table for radiographs, Bair Huggers and electrocautery units. We currently have three modalities for dental imaging including PS-2 direct #2 sensors, a ScanX Duo indirect scanner system with sizes 0-4 plates, and a VetCAT cone beam CT, along with access to the fully staffed radiology department&rsquo;s ultrasound, plain radiography, MRI and CT capability. The suite is also equipped with a Sirona X-Smart IQ handpiece and a lightspeed Elements motor and handpiece including the full complement of rotary files. The Dentistry Service is busy with a wide range of cases including maxillofacial trauma, orthodontics and oral surgical oncology. The AMC is currently undergoing a $100 million renovation and the new surgical floor will be equipped with an operatory appropriate for performing oral surgeries, opening in 2024.</p>

<p>One of our biggest assets is our ability to collaborate with many specialty services, including 2.5 full time anesthesiologists, a large surgical support staff including a surgical oncologist, as well as the ancillary departments that help improve the quality of care. These departments include 24-hour emergency and critical care, cardiology, oncology, and radiation oncology that utilizes a brand new Elekta Infinity HD LINAC. The AMC is also committed to teaching and research with a large rotating intern and resident presence. The dentistry service currently has one resident per 3-year term.</p>

The Avian and Exotic Service at AMC provides 7-day/week veterinary care for a varied caseload of approximately 2,600 animals/year comprising birds, small mammals, reptiles, amphibians, and some fish. The clinician will join a service consisting of one full-time ABVP board-certified veterinarian (Reptile and Amphibian Practice), 2 part-time ABVP board-certified veterinarians (Avian Practice), and 1 per diem clinician. The Service also includes 2 house officers (2 specialty interns or intern/resident), 4 full-time and part-time technicians, 4 full-time assistants, and 1 service coordinator.</p>

<h3>Clinical and Service Responsibilities</h3>

<p>In a 4-day work week, clinical responsibilities consist of daily clinical appointments, inpatient care, clinical procedures, and consulting on walk-in emergency cases. You will share oversight and training of house officers in avian and exotic pet medicine and surgery and in the training of general rotating interns. As a Level 1 Trauma Center, the AMC Emergency and Critical Care Department provides 24-hour emergency service. No on-call emergency duty is required. The Avian and Exotic Pet Service is fully integrated with other services at the AMC and works in close coordination with other specialists to provide optimal patient care.
