Position Overview
The Premier Veterinary Group in Mundelein, IL is looking for a Certified Veterinary Technician to join our Emergency and Critical Care Department on a per diem basis!

The primary responsibility is to triage and provide care for patients presenting to and hospitalized in our Emergency and Critical Care Department. - Per Diem hours
- Flexible shift availability is needed
- Competitive hourly pay - dependent on experience and qualifications, range $22-30/hr + depending on experience
- Applicable shift differentials $5/hr for overnights!
- Triaging incoming patients and managing clients throughout their visit
- Partnering with DVM’s in patient assessment, diagnostics, treatments, and procedures
- Completing patient daily treatments in a timely manner at key treatment times
- Assessing hospitalized patients, using intuitive skills as a technician
- Assisting with flow and organization of Emergency and Critical Care department
- Obtaining and processing laboratory samples such as blood, urine, free fluid, and fine needle aspirates
- Utilizing different modalities of imaging for patient assessment
- Executing, monitoring, and recovering all assigned sedation and anesthetic events

Skills and Experience:
- General nursing care and treatment of patients
- Administering and monitoring anesthesia
- Assisting the veterinarian in procedures
- Admitting and discharging patients
- Client communication and education
- High School education or equivalent
- Several years’ experience of related job experience
- Certification or licensing as a veterinary technician preferred but all skill levels are encouraged to apply!
