Position Overview

Burlington Emergency & Veterinary Specialists (BEVS)  is seeking a skilled and compassionate Hybrid ER/ICU Veterinary Technician to join our Emergency & Critical Care (ECC) team. BEVS is Vermont’s only 24/7 specialty and emergency animal hospital. We offer an unparalleled level of care, including expert emergency and critical care 24 hours a day, as well as advanced specialty services such as dentistry and oral surgery, internal medicine, neurology, ophthalmology, radioiodine therapy, and surgery. This dynamic role offers the opportunity to work on both our fast-paced emergency floor and in our dedicated ICU nursing unit. Hybrid ER/ICU Veterinary Technician        Burlington Emergency and Veterinary Specialists in Williston, VT     $26.00 - $32.00 base rate depending on experience and licensure. Overnight shifts are eligible for a shift differential.  KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Deliver compassionate, high-quality care to patients and their families
  • Perform triage and initiate critical interventions for emergent patients
  • Conduct basic examinations to assess patient stability
  • Execute advanced nursing procedures, including CPR, phlebotomy, cystocentesis, laboratory testing, and CRI calculations and administration
  • Administer and monitor sedation for minor procedures and advanced anesthesia for emergency surgeries
  • Provide ongoing care for hospitalized ICU and isolation patients
  • Facilitate patient admissions and discharges from the ICU
  • Prepare treatment estimates and discuss financial commitments with clients
  • Maintain accurate and detailed medical records in accordance with hospital protocols
  • Ensure exam rooms and treatment areas are properly prepared and maintained

 REQUIREMENTS         
  • High school diploma or equivalent 
  • Veterinary Technician Certification (CVT) or License (LVT) preferred but not required 
  • Minimum two years of prior veterinary hospital experience required, prior emergency experience preferred
  • Must have a positive attitude and be a team player
