Position for Job:Associate Veterinarian

Number of Positions:2

Hours per Week:30-40

Shifts:Full-Time, Part-Time

Shift Starts :8:00 AM

Shift Ends 4:00 PM

Position Overview

This position is ideal for veterinarian who enjoys wellness care, preventative medicince, diagnosticsm and helping pets and their families while working in a supportive, mission-driven enironment. Our facility is focused on providing accessible, affordable veterinary care to the community while also supporting the animals of Wags 2 Wishes Animal Rescue.

Student Loan Forgiveness Eligibility- Through our affiliated 501(c)(3) nonprofit animal rescue, qualifying veterinarians may be eligible for the federal Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) program.

Responsibilities

- Wellness and preventative care appointments

- Vaccinations and routine examinations

- Sick-pet and minor illness visits

-Diagnostic testing and interpretation

- Heartworm, fecal, and other routine screening

- Development of treatment plans

- Prescribing medications as appropriate

- Minor procedures and basic wound care

- Reviewing laboratory and diagnostic results

- Maintaining accurate medical records

- Communicating treatment recommendations with pet owners

- Working closeely with Veterinary techicians and assistants

- Supporting rescue animals with examinations and medical care as needed

Requirements

Primary Specialty:General Practice (GP)

Primary Expertise:Private Practice (Small Animal)

Preferred Species Experience :Canine, Feline

Core Veterinary Competencies:Animal Handling & Restraint, Client Communication, Patient Triage, Medication Administration, Laboratory Testing (In-House & External), Wound Care & Bandaging, Medical Record Keeping (SOAP Notes), Inventory Management, Fear Free / Low-Stress Handling

Education: Doctorate
