Job Description

Certified Veterinary Technician – Surgery
Acoaxet Veterinary Clinic | 965 Sanford Rd, Westport, MA 02790

Are you a Certified Veterinary Technician who’s passionate about surgery, anesthesia, and dentistry? Join our incredible team at Acoaxet Veterinary Clinic! An AAHA-accredited, ABVP-certified, AVMA member hospital located in scenic Westport, Massachusetts.

We’re a close-knit, team-oriented hospital with 10–20+ years of staff longevity. Our technicians are deeply valued, supported, and empowered to do what they do best: deliver outstanding patient care. Whether you’re an experienced technician or a new graduate looking for mentorship, this could be the perfect place to grow your skills and career.

What You’ll Do:

  • Assist veterinarians in surgical and dental procedures, including anesthesia monitoring, patient prep, and recovery care
  • Perform dental radiology and cleanings
  • Maintain sterile surgical environments and ensure proper handling of instruments
  • Provide compassionate post-operative monitoring and nursing care
  • Accurately maintain medical records and treatment plans
  • Support your team in other areas of the hospital as needed

 What We’re Looking For:

  • Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT, LVT, or RVT) — or eligible for certification (mentorship available for new grads)
  • Interest in surgery, anesthesia, and dentistry (we do a lot of dentals here!)
  • Team-focused, reliable, and eager to contribute to a positive work culture
  • Excellent communication and client service skills
  • A great cultural fit, someone who values teamwork, respect, and collaboration

Why You’ll Love Working Here:

  • Strong, supportive culture with long-term staff and approachable leadership
  • Laid-back management style with an open-door policy, your voice matters here
  • 4-day work week with rotating half-day Saturdays, followed by two weekdays off
  • Competitive compensation: $24–28/hour (based on experience)
  • Full benefits package, including:
    • Health insurance
    • Uniform allowance
    • CE allowance & license reimbursement
    • Pet care discounts
    • Accrued sick time & vacation time
  • Opportunities to give back to the community:
    • Work with local shelters and rabies clinics
    • Doctors volunteer their time and services for animals in need
  • Team celebrations throughout the year: summer outings, holiday parties, and more!

Join a hospital where your skills are valued, your growth is supported, and your team feels like family. Apply today!
