This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact by delivering exceptional nursing care to cancer patients while supporting pet owners through every stage of treatment. Every member of our team is empowered to contribute their expertise and make a meaningful difference for patients and their families.

In Your Day-to-Day, You Will:

  • Deliver exceptional nursing care for oncology patients before, during, and after chemotherapy and other cancer treatments.
  • Prepare and administer chemotherapy and oncology therapies under the supervision of board-certified veterinary oncologists.
  • Follow established chemotherapy safety protocols and cytotoxic drug handling procedures to ensure a safe environment for patients and team members.
  • Perform diagnostic procedures including blood collection, urinalysis, laboratory testing, and imaging support.
  • Place IV catheters, collect diagnostic samples, and monitor anesthesia for oncology procedures.
  • Monitor patients for treatment response, adverse reactions, and changes in condition, communicating findings promptly to the medical team.
  • Educate clients on treatment plans, medication administration, home care, and monitoring for potential side effects.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and treatment documentation.
  • Ensure oncology treatment areas remain clean, organized, and compliant with safety and sterility standards.
  • Collaborate closely with veterinarians, technicians, assistants, and client care teams to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.
  • Contribute to a positive, supportive hospital culture focused on teamwork and compassionate care.

  • Minimum one year of specialty or emergency veterinary experience preferred.
  • Experience with—or a strong interest in—veterinary oncology and chemotherapy protocols.
  • Strong technical skills including IV catheter placement, anesthesia monitoring, and advanced patient nursing.
  • Excellent communication and client education skills with empathy for families navigating cancer treatment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety, particularly when handling chemotherapy agents.
