Associate Veterinarian

Company Description

B & A Animal Hospital is seeking a compassionate, driven Associate Veterinarian to join our team in Boaz, Alabama — a friendly Sand Mountain community with small-town charm, easy access to lake life, and a genuine sense of Southern hospitality. Whether you're a recent DVM graduate or an experienced veterinarian looking for a change of pace, this is a great opportunity to build a rewarding career in a welcoming community.

Why Boaz, Alabama?

Relocating is a big decision, so here is why so many people fall in love with life in and around Boaz:

Lake life right around the corner. Boaz sits close to Lake Guntersville, Alabama's largest lake, where Lake Guntersville State Park offers fishing, boating, hiking, and wildlife watching, along with a resort lodge, cabins, and even a golf course.

Waterfalls and hiking within easy reach. High Falls Park is a favorite local spot for hiking through woodland and rock formations to a roughly 35-foot waterfall spanning up to 300 feet wide, with spots to cool off in the summer, kayak, and take in sweeping views from the pedestrian bridge.

A genuine small-town shopping scene. Boaz is known throughout the region for its outlet stores and historic downtown shopping, along with locally owned gift shops and antique stores like StationHouse Antiques and Past Time Antiques, where more than 50 dealers offer everything from vintage furniture to first-edition books.

Adventure for the thrill-seekers. Nearby Lake Guntersville is home to Screaming Eagle, one of the longest zipline canopy tours in the world, with courses ranging from a couple of hours to a two-day, 100-zip-line extravaganza.

Wine and local flavor. Jules J. Berta Vineyards, planted in 1987, was the first producer of vitis vinifera wine grapes in Alabama and still offers tastings, tours, and a gift shop just a short drive from town.

A classic drive-in movie experience. The Sand Mountain Drive-In offers a nostalgic double-feature movie night under the stars, while Boaz 9 Cinema covers the latest releases with a comfortable indoor setting.

Local history worth exploring. The nearby Guntersville Museum, housed in a historic rock armory, tells the story of the region from Native American times through the present, and Boaz's own history runs deep as a former agricultural hub that has grown into a diverse local economy.

Close to bigger cities, but far from the rush. Boaz sits in Marshall County, only about 77 miles from Birmingham and 57 miles from Huntsville, so big-city amenities and airports are within reach while home stays quiet, friendly, and unhurried.

Southern hospitality, genuinely. Boaz is known for its welcoming neighborhoods, strong sense of community, and warm hospitality — the kind of place where people wave from their porches and mean it.
