Efficient Use of Technicians and Nurses: RACE Approved Webinar
Is your veterinary staff really performing at its best? For most practices, the answer is no. One of the most pervasive problems in veterinary hospitals today is the underutilization of technicians and veterinary nurses.
These well-trained professionals frequently perform tasks well below their skill set, while doctors have workloads that are easily redistributable. The result? Burned-out veterinarians, dissatisfied team members, diminished workflows, and lost chances to increase practice revenue.
This is where Vet And Tech comes in. As a response to this pressing challenge, we are hosting a RACE-approved webinar entitled "Efficient Use of Technicians/Nurses in Your Practice". The one-hour session will be held on September 3, 2025, at 8:00 PM (US Eastern Time) and will be conducted by the renowned veterinary educator Kara M. Burns, MS, MEd, LVT, VTS (Nutrition).
This webinar will examine how veterinary hospitals actually utilize their technicians today, how those methods compare to industry best practices, and, most significantly, what can be done differently.
They will leave with takeaway solutions they can apply right away to build better teams, happier employees, and healthier animals.
Why This Free RACE-Approved Webinar Matters
Practice in the veterinary field is a team effort. Every job, from vet to nurse, technician, and assistant, possesses unique skills that, when properly delegated, keep the practice running like clockwork. But still, hospitals are run on outdated job descriptions, where veterinary nurses and technicians are not always respected or trusted in the roles for which they have been trained.
The consequences are grim: patients aren't receiving the optimal care, doctors burn out, and experienced staff quit medicine altogether. But there is hope. By learning to optimize team utilization, practices can not only enhance the quality of care but also establish a work culture in which every team member feels valued.
That's what this webinar is all about: helping you view what's preventing your team from succeeding and providing you with the solutions to repair it.
Key Points of the Webinar
The webinar will address a number of critical topics, including:
- Current Utilization Trends: View how your practice compares to others within the profession.

- Benefits for the Team and Patients: See how proper utilization yields happier staff, improved patient results, and improved client relationships.
