Free CE Webinar to Spotlight 10 Overlooked POC Tests in Veterinary Practice

Vet and Tech announces the next session in its Learn at Lunch webinar series powered by DVM Central, focused on underused point-of-care diagnostics. This free CE webinar covers ten veterinary POC tests that are already commercially available but underused in general practice.

Hosted by Vet and Tech and led by Dr. Bonnie Bragdon, the Learn at Lunch session takes place on August 20, 2026, at 1:00 PM US Eastern Time and is RACE-approved for 0.5 CE.

By the end of the session, attendees will gain practical insights into selecting, interpreting, and applying point-of-care tests in everyday veterinary practice.

Why POC Tests in Veterinary Medicine Matter

Reference lab turnaround still drives the pace of many clinical decisions, even when a patient's condition calls for an answer immediately. That delay affects treatment timing, hospitalization decisions, and client communication. Veterinary point-of-care analyzers exist to close that gap, but many of the specific tests capable of doing so remain unfamiliar to general practice teams.

Point of care testing gives veterinary teams faster access to diagnostic information. Even so, knowing which test to use, how reliable the results are, and when a reference laboratory is still the better option can be challenging.

This session gives attendees a clinical framework for making that call, covering how to evaluate veterinary POC test accuracy, when in-house veterinary diagnostic testing is appropriate, and when a sample still belongs at the reference lab.
